"Grace in the Fall"
An Original Oil Painting by Jenedy Paige
About The Painting
“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:16
I see the turning of the seasons as a beautiful symbol of renewal. The earth dies and comes alive again every year. Fall is my favorite season and isn’t it interesting that the colors and beauty of the world become so intense right before everything seems to die? If you had never known spring before, you might think that all was lost. Yet, the snow will melt and new life will rise. Even so, Christ’s grace makes it possible for our personal winters to turn into spring. He can brace us in our falls, in those unexpected changes of life. He can catch us in our falls, when we are prey to human weakness. His atonement covers for the entire fall of man. When I look at this painting, I also think of the courage of mother Eve in her fall, the trust she had in the Savior’s promises. I will look to Christ in every fall, and remember that spring will come, joy will follow sorrow.
“For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.” – 1 Corinthians 15:22
