“For now we see through a glass, darkly;” 1 Corinthians 13:12
We all see a little bit differently. This is evident in the work of artists, as each portrays the same subject in a vast array of styles. Over time our ability to see changes. I can now see subtleties in art that I was blind to ten years ago. However, I recognize that my perspective is still limited, and I hope to ever widen my view.
It can also be so easy to just see what is right before us. We can get lost in the monotony of daily living: chores, deadlines, appointments. However, when I take the time to look behind me at all the small, seeming coincidences, I can see God’s hand directing me. When I look around to the needs of others, I am lifted as I take opportunities to serve. And as I shift my sights from the temporal to the eternal, vast learning opens to my view. There is always so much more to see.
